Szpilki Na Mapie
Dominika and Jacek. A couple that had a dream. Their dream was to travel around the world. Dreams evolve along time. Our dream was no exception to this rule. Back in the day we were dreaming about RTW (round-the-world) ticket. Now we’re setting off without certain destination, plan or timeframe.
Are we excited? Definitely. Are we afraid? Obviously. There are so many question marks. Yet we see this as part of the road. If there were no questions marks we would probably stay at home surrounded with our everyday life. It’s not that we didn’t like our everyday life, actually we liked it very much. We had fulfilling jobs, loving families and friends that we can count on. We leave a lot behind, but we do believe that it’s only temporary parting.
In Polish „Szpilki Na Mapie” means something like „pins on the map”. Why Szpilki Na Mapie? Dominika high school nickname was „Szpilka” – a pin. One „Szpilka” would feel lonely so we made it plural and there we have it – Szpilki Na Mapie! :)
Jacek Krzeszewski
Born in 1989. Alumni of Poniatowski High School in Warsaw where he attended class with extended mathematics and philosophy curriculum. Economist by education, market researcher by profession. Artistic soul on a daily basis. Passionate musician. He plays guitar, sings, composes music and lyrics for his band Westwood (click here to listen). On the one hand romantic and philosophic, on the other hand realist, keeping both feet on the ground trying to optimize every plan. Individualist. Perfectionist with 100% engagement in what he does. Dreams big. Set life goals and persistently pursue those goals. Full of energy and passion. Likes to act, can’t stand doing nothing. He’s open for the people and surrounding world. Interacts with others and wins people easily. Difficult character. Demanding in regard to himself and others.
Dominika Krzeszewska
Born in 1990. Alumni of Poniatowski High School in Warsaw and Warsaw Medical University where she studied medicine. The author of the round-the-world travel idea. Never accepting half measures. When she decides to do something, its got to be the biggest and the greatest. When she thinks of a trip, its got to be a round the world trip. Aesthete. She has a good taste and even better memory. Like all kinds of rusticalities. Among friends – master of confectionery. Very accurate and patient if she cares about something. Always takes everything seriously. Planner. Loves to do TO DO’s lists and note everything in notebooks (she has a tone of them). Stubborn and persistent in pursuing her aims. Never puts anything in her jeans pockets. Always reaching for the stars.
